Our Story
The idea for Barrels for Hope was born in March 2022, when Cofounder Lance received life-changing news — his wife had been diagnosed with cancer. In a remarkable show of support, the Whiskey Tube community rallied around his family, raising over $12,000. Deeply moved by this generosity, Lance made a promise: one day, he would pay it forward.
Nine months later, that promise started to take shape. Lance reached out to Josh with the idea of launching a barrel pick club — and together, they realized they could combine their passion for whiskey with a mission to give back.
They soon brought in Joe, who brought valuable experience in forming a 501(c)(3), and a quick call to Dusty Dan — a seasoned palate and a founding member with a big heart — completed the team. With shared values and a clear vision, Barrels for Hope was born.
The concept was simple yet powerful:
A barrel pick club where every member receives a bottle from each pick, and 100% of proceeds are donated to charities that have personally touched the lives of our founders and community.
Thanks to the generosity and partnership of A1 Liquors in Effingham, IL, we’re able to secure six exclusive barrel picks each year. In our first two years, we have raised $90,000 — and this is just the beginning.
