🌟 Member Spotlight: Getting to Know Gary Botchman

📍Where I’m From & About Me
I’m from Peekskill, NY, right on the Hudson River—about 20 minutes from West Point. I’m also a proud grandfather to two beautiful granddaughters, ages 2 and 1.

What Inspired Me to Join
I became connected to the organization through the “Whiskey Tornado,” run by our friend Lance Lyell. Together, we walked through the incredibly difficult journey of Lance’s wife’s cancer diagnosis. When Renee was finally pronounced cancer-free and rang the bell, the relief and joy among us was unforgettable. From that moment on, I was all in.

💙Cause Closest to My Heart
Cancer, without a doubt. This cause is deeply personal for me—just this week, I lost a close family friend to this awful disease.

🎉Favorite Memory with Barrels for Hope
Saturday at the very first Annual Event was life-changing. The energy, the connection, and the purpose we all felt that day will stay with me forever.

🤝What Giving Back Means to Me
To me, this group represents the very best of the human spirit. It’s proof that we can still have faith in humanity—and that together, we can accomplish anything.
